  4. What is Fkey Strip and what does it do?
  5. Fkey Strip is a module for Apple's Control Strip which servers two main purposes;
  6. 1) Provides a menu to the Control Strip window which list all fkeys installed
  7.     and allows you to run them by choosing them from the list
  8. 2) Creates a folder called 'Fkey Folder' in your system folder whose contents are
  9.     scanned for Fkeys and added to the menu.

  11. Why would I want this?
  12. 1) If your like me, you have several fkeys installed and forget their key combinations.
  13.     Using Fkey Strip you call easily access these fkeys without using the key
  14.     combinations.
  15. 2) Most of us don't like having to install fkeys into our system, there are of course
  16.     fancy tricks that can be done to ease the process but what could be easier that
  17.     just dropping the file, which can be of any type, into a folder (in this case,
  18.     the 'Fkey Folder').
  19. 3) Again if your like me you would like to have more fkeys than the limited number
  20.     that is possible using the key combinations. Since fkeys are activated using
  21.     the keys command-shift and a number 0-9 you can easily see that you can have
  22.     a very small collection of fkeys at once. Using Fkey Strip you may have up to
  23.     100 fkeys installed.

  25. How do I install it?
  26. Simply place the module 'Fkey Strip' in the folder 'Control Strip Modules' (which
  27.     is located inside your system folder) and restart.

  29. How do I use it?
  30. Once Fkey Strip is properly installed place an file containing an fkey into the folder
  31.     called 'Fkey Folder' (which Fkey Strip created inside your system folder) and
  32.     either restart or choose 'reset' from the new 'Fkey Strip' item (looks like
  33.     a fancy 'f') on your Control Strip window.

  35. What does it cost?
  36. Fkey Strip is shareware, meaning that you may try Fkey Strip for one week and then
  37.     either send $5 U.S. Currency (or the equivalent in your currency if outside of
  38.     the United States) or destroy all copies of Fkey Strip in your possession.

  50.     as all original software and documentation is included in without modification.

  52. 3) Fkey Folder may also be included as part of a collection of software so long as
  53.     permission is given by myself, the author in advance. (just email me).
